Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama Anime Film Gets 4K Remaster – News


Film will be available in theatres, on TV, on DVD, BD, OTT services from 2022


TEM Co., Ltd. and Anime Pop Mall announced on Facebook on Saturday that the Ramayana – The Legend of Prince Rama (Ramayana – Rama Ouji Densetsu) anime will get a 4K remaster. The remastered version of the film will be available in theatres, on television, on DVD and Blu-ray Disc, and OTT services from 2022.

The companies have established new social media handles for the film and are accepting requests for broadcast and streaming rights.

The remastered version of the film will launch in the 70th anniversary year of India-Japan diplomatic relations.

The anime film premiered in 1992, the 40th anniversary year of India-Japan diplomatic relations. Cartoon Network aired the film on Indian television in subsequent years.

Yugo Sako directed the film at Nippon Ramayana Film Co. and co-produced it alongside Krishna Shan. Vanraj Bhatia and Alan Howarth composed the music. Moriyasu Taniguchi designed the characters for the film. Satoshi Matsuoka was the art director and Kazuyuki Kobayashi was the animation director.
